Cagiva Mito 125: Essential Maintenance & Tuning for the 2-Stroke Legend
Cagiva Mito 125: Essential Maintenance & Tuning
⚠️ SAFETY MESSAGE: The Cagiva Mito is a high-performance 2-stroke. You must use only high-quality fully synthetic 2-stroke oil. Never "redline" the engine until it has reached full operating temperature, as cold-seizures are common and can lock the rear wheel.
The "Reliability" Fixes
Starter Motor Rebuild: The Mito's starter is a known weak point. Cleaning the internal carbon brushes every few seasons prevents the "clicking" non-start issue.
Voltage Regulator: Italian electrics can be temperamental. If your battery voltage exceeds 14.5V while revving, your regulator is failing and needs immediate replacement.
Easy Performance
Performance Exhausts: Swapping the restricted stock pipe for an expansion chamber like an Arrow or Jolly Moto "wakes up" the engine. Note: You must up-jet the carb if you do this.
High-Performance Tires: For a bike that handles this well, don't settle for budget rubber.
